Mobility and Exchange Outgoing

Application

Application requirements

  • There is a SEMP (Erasmus) agreement with your chosen host university for your mono/major or minor subject.
  • You have completed one academic year (BA) or one semester (MA) at the University of Bern or have attended the previous Bachelor's programme at the University of Bern.
  • You remain enrolled at the University of Bern during your study abroad period and pay the full tuition fees here. Your tuition fees will be waived at the host university. Cantonal scholarships will continue to be paid during your stay abroad (the conditions of the cantonal scholarship must still be fulfilled).

Application procedure

  1. Find out about the existing exchange possibilities in the online portal.
  2. Check the requirements of possible host universities: course offer, language requirements, etc. In the online portal you will find factsheets and links to our partner universities (click on the 'i' on the far left of each search result). Former outgoing students' experience reports give you a realistic impression of the exchange experience.
  3. Check out the relevant deadlines early. Some subjects have earlier pre-registration deadlines and some Departmental Coordinators require additional documents in addition to the application on Mobility-Online. In both cases, please inform yourself on the website of your department. If you have subject-specific questions about your study abroad programme, you can contact your Departmental Coordinator.
  4. Apply through our online portal.
  5. After registering via the online portal, you will receive an e-mail with a login for your application portal and further information.
