ISEP - International Student Exchange Program
- For an exchange within Europe, we recommend that you study at one of the SEMP/Erasmus partner universities in your subject area. Information about the SEMP exchange program can be found at: https://www.unibe.ch/studies/mobility/outgoing/in_europe/semp_erasmus_studies/index_eng.html. Flavio Caluori and David Di Santo can offer you advice: semp.outgoing.int@unibe.ch.
- For an exchange outside Europe, we recommend that you study at a partner university via the “Exchange worldwide” program, which is open to all subjects (some universities, however, have subject privileges). Information at https://www.unibe.ch/studies/mobility/outgoing/worldwide/exchange_partners_worldwide/index_eng.html. Henriette Graf can offer you advice: henriette.graf@unibe.ch
- With a little initiative, you can spend an exchange at a university of your own choice if there is no exchange agreement. Information at: https://www.unibe.ch/studies/mobility/outgoing/worldwide/on_your_own_initiative/index_eng.html

ISEP is the largest network for student exchanges worldwide. With ISEP Exchange you can study one or two semesters at one of around
in every offered field of study except Medicine and Veterinary Medicine. The only exception is participation in the ISEP Direct Program.
You remain registered at the University of Bern and deposit the money here for food and accommodation. In return, you do not pay any registration fees at the host university and will be given free accommodation and meals or a grant with the equivalent amount. The amount you deposit here enables an ISEP guest student to stay in Bern with the same conditions.
NOTE: For students of psychology and law we recommend to apply via SEMP (Erasmus) studies for a stay in Europe and via Exchange partners worldwide (students of law should make sure that the respective partner university has its own law faculty or law department) for an exchange outside Europe. The Faculty of Law has also concluded subject agreements with universities in and outside Europe.
