Compass UniBE – University Preparation for Refugee Students

Compass UniBE is a two-semester university preparation program for refugees, who are aiming to study at the University of Bern.

Over the course of a year, you will acquire academic skills and basic academic competencies and prepare yourself linguistically, professionally and organizationally for possible admission to a course of study at the University of Bern. After successfully completing the Compass UniBE university preparation program, you have the opportunity to apply for admission to a regular course of study.

Target group

Refugees (status B, F, N or S) with at least a foreign upper secondary school-leaving certificate (Matura) and good knowledge of German (level B1), who are highly motivated to prepare for admission to study at the University of Bern over a period of one year. (May be subject to further conditions of participation.)  

Program duration

Compass UniBE lasts two semesters (August-July). Participants can join the program each fall semester. 

Application

Online registration is open from the beginning of January to the end of February. The selection process is completed in June.
