Prerequisites for attendance
- Foreign upper secondary school-leaving certificate (Matura/High School certificate) or commenced university studies, depending on the country of origin of your former education*
- German language proficiency level B1 (placement test)
- Residence permit B (refugee), F, N or S
- Residency in Switzerland
- Consent of the case-managing asylum welfare office
- High motivation, independence and willingness to learn

What we expect from you
- Full participation in lessons for one year (August-July)
- Compliance with agreements and stipulations
Limited number of participants
There are 20 places available.
When applying for Compass UniBE, it is not guaranteed that you will be accepted into the program. A selection process will take place.
Costs
- A course fee of CHF 4,200 is charged for the language courses. Further details can be found in the document “Course fees and payment modalities” below (in German)*.
- In addition, costs for teaching materials, laptop and transportation must be expected. These are not covered by the program.
* Discuss the assumption of costs with your asylum social worker or job coach. For people who are in the asylum social assistance structures, the approval of the responsible office is a prerequisite for participation in Compass UniBE. If you do not receive asylum social assistance and have questions about the assumption of costs, please contact the Compass project team.
