Reworking of the final evaluation for spring semester 2021
In response to the feedback from the faculties we reworked the following aspects of the questionnaire and the report for the final evaluation in spring semester 2021:
Questionnaire
Sample of the reworked questionnaire
- Final evaluation: online
Response scale
The response scale for the satisfaction criterion was adjusted, so that all questions relevant for the overall score now use the same scale.
Key for response options:
- 1 = does not apply at all
- 2 = does not apply
- 3 = does not really apply
- 4 = mostly applies
- 5 = applies
- 6 = totally applies
- N/A = No sensible answer possible
Weighting
The weighting has been simplified:
The first 10 questions (1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 2.5, 2.6 and 2.7) are taken into account for the overall score, which results from the average of the respective scores for each of those questions. This overall score serves as the basis for the classification into one of the four performance levels.
Thresholds
The thresholds remain the same as in fall semester 2020:
- ≥5.7 Excellent
- ≥4.5 <5.7 Good
- ≥4.0 <4.5 Sufficient
- <4.0 Insufficient
Sets of questions
Two sets of questions were omitted, resulting in a shorter questionnaire:
- Increased interest
- Development of competencies – motivational
More opportunities for comments have been introduced:
- 1.4 "Further comments on my learning progress"
- 2.11 "Further comments on content, structure, conveyance, learning aids etc.:"
- As before: 5.1 "What did you particularly like about this course?"
- As before: 5.2 "What did you not like about this course respectively what are your suggestions for improvement?"
- The sentence "please explain negative ratings in the comment fields" in the introduction has been removed, as comments on positive ratings are also welcome.
Report

Sample report final evaluation
-
An introductory sentence indicates that the questionnaire has been reworked and shortened for spring semester 2021.
-
The overall score is immediately apparent in a single score (scores from questions 1.1 to 2.7 divided by 10).
-
The performance levels and their respective thresholds are visualized. Based on this instructors can derive the performance level their own course achieved.
-
For reference, the scores for "Learning progress" (questions 1.1-1.3) and "Satisfaction" (2.1-2.7) are presented as well.
-
Next to the individual questions that count towards the overall score, traffic lights continue to show which level each respective score achieved.
-
The reference line, which shows how the instructor's own course compares to the faculty, is still provided.
-
Questions that do not count towards the overall score (2.8-2.10, 3.1, 4.1 -4.3 and open questions) are explicitly marked as such.
