Sustainability is important to us

The sustainability of the catering is a central strategic goal of the Foundation.

Measures

Together with the catering partners, the canteen foundation defines a catalog of measures with suitable tools for implementation, communication and controlling. This forms the basis for the operator's annual sustainability action plan.

The sustainability of catering is divided into four key areas.

  • Climate protection
  • Conservation of resources
  • Social and ethical issues
  • Health

The Canteen Operations Foundation operates one location in cooperation with Bakery Bakery.

In September 2013, the University of Bern was the first university in the world to receive the “Blue University” label. From now on, all canteens and cafeterias at the University of Bern will have drinking fountains labeled Blue University Bern where you can fill up your own drinking bottle with fresh tap water.
