The sustainability of the catering is a central strategic goal of the Foundation.
Sustainable gastronomy
Measures
Together with the catering partners, the canteen foundation defines a catalog of measures with suitable tools for implementation, communication and controlling. This forms the basis for the operator's annual sustainability action plan.
The sustainability of catering is divided into four key areas.

- Conservation of resources
- Social and ethical issues
- Health

In September 2013, the University of Bern joined the “Blue Community” initiative and was awarded the “Blue University” label. You can find out more about Blue University here.
In addition, the Canteen Operations Foundation cooperates with the Consumer Behavior department and has an ongoing partnership with Bakery Bakery.
