Finance and insurances

In particular the first one or two months abroad can prove to be expensive. As with every move, costs for new acquisitions can accumulate. However, other costs are also incurred, such as the residence permit fee, 1-3 months' deposit on accommodation, monthly health insurance premiums, parking tickets for your car or a public transport travel card etc.

Health insurance is mandatory in Switzerland and should be factored into the monthly budget. The employer does not contribute to the cost of insurance premiums.
