Carbon neutral University

The University of Bern wants to become a climate-neutral institution. Becoming climate neutral is an ambitious goal that requires everybody’s cooperation. The University of Bern can also count on its world-renowned research on climate change and adaptation to help achieve that goal.

We are using a participatory process to prepare a roadmap to climate neutrality by 2030. In that process we are focusing our efforts on a mix of measures that includes both abatement and offsetting measures. On top of that, as part of the Engaged UniBE initiative, we also want to blaze new trails by promoting transdisciplinary projects that help bring about a societal transformation toward greater sustainability.
