Friedrich Dürrenmatt guest professorship

The Friedrich Dürrenmatt guest professorship for world literature provides courses and readings to supplement studies in the humanities and social sciences, to enhance the range of cultural activities on offer in Bern and more. Every semester since spring 2014, an international author has been teaching as the Friedrich Dürrenmatt guest professor for world literature at the University of Bern. The guests each give a 14-week course of lectures and work together with undergraduates and doctoral students just like regular professors. In addition to the seminars and readings given by the Friedrich Dürrenmatt guest professors, events are organized by the University and public bodies in Bern and at other locations across Switzerland. The guest professorship has been made possible thanks to the support of the Mercator Schweiz foundation.
